Hong Kong is the city with the most skyscrapers in the world. As of 2026, there are about 570 high-rise buildings over 150 meters tall in Hong Kong (150 meters is the minimum height of skyscrapers), far exceeding other cities in the world. For comparison, the number of skyscrapers in New York is 325, Dubai is 270, Shanghai is 205, and Tokyo is 178. The city with the closest number of skyscrapers to Hong Kong is the neighboring city Shenzhen, which has 501 skyscrapers.

The following are the 20 tallest skyscrapers in Hong Kong in 2026, including basic facts and information about each building. The ranking is based on standard height, from high to low.

1. International Commerce Center

The International Commerce Center is located on the reclaimed land in West Kowloon. It is 484 meters high and is the tallest building in Hong Kong, and the 14th tallest building in the world. Together with the Two International Finance Center on the opposite bank of Hong Kong Island, it forms a unique landscape of the majestic “Victoria Harbor Portico”. This building is the seventh and final phase of the Union Square, a comprehensive commercial and residential development project at Kowloon Station, which includes many high-rise buildings.
The above-ground part of the International Commerce Center has a total of 108 floors, making it the only skyscraper in Hong Kong with more than 100 floors. Some floor numbers are skipped, resulting in the highest floor being the 118th floor. There is a 360-degree indoor observation deck on the 100th floor of the building, called Sky100. The part above 100 floors is the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, which was the tallest hotel in the world before 2019 and has now been surpassed by the Rosewood Hotel in Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Building and the J Hotel in Shanghai Tower.

Two International Finance Center, also known as 2 IFC, is located on the waterfront of Central District, Hong Kong Island. It is 415 meters high and has 88 floors. It is the tallest building on Hong Kong Island and the second tallest building in Hong Kong. This building is home to the headquarters of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, which occupies the top floors of the building from 77th to 88th floors and part of the sky lobby in the middle section of the building.
2 IFC was designed by the famous architect César Pelli. Its appearance is very similar to 1 IFC, both towers have crown and ivory-shaped decorations on the rooftop.

Central Plaza is located in Wan Chai District, Hong Kong Island. It was jointly developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties and several other developers. Although the building is named “Central Plaza”, it is not actually located in Central District.
When it was built in 1992, Central Plaza became the tallest building in Asia and the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world at a height of 374 meters. It was not until 1996 that it was surpassed by the 384-meter-tall Shun Hing Plaza in Shenzhen.
The building has a unique appearance and adopts a triangular plane layout. The stair-shaped crown and spire on the top of the building are 102 meters high. There is a four-grid neon clock below the spire, which displays different colors every 15 minutes and flashes every quarter of an hour to inform citizens of the approximate time.
The building has a total of 78 floors, there is a church on the 75th floor, called iSEE Church (formerly known as Sky City Church), which is the highest church in the world.

4. Bank of China Tower

Bank of China Tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Hong Kong. It is located in Central District, Hong Kong Island and is the headquarters of Bank of China Hong Kong. The building was completed in 1990. The roof is 315 meters (1,033 feet) high, and with the antennas the building is 367 meters tall. At that time, it was the tallest building in Asia and the first building outside the United States to exceed 1,000 feet. The building has a unique appearance and was designed by the famous Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei. Its prismatic shapes and triangular frames make it look like a bamboo shoot rising step by step.

Both have pyramidal crowns and spires, they were designed by the same architecture firm. Li Ka-shing once considered using the top floor of the building as the chairman’s office of the Cheung Kong Group. However, Cheung Kong sold the building to a mainland state-owned enterprise in 2017.
At night, many horizontal strips of neon lights are lit on the curtain walls of the building. The higher it goes, the denser they are, and the colors change slowly. It is an iconic part of the night view of Hong Kong Island.

6. Nina Tower

It was developed and built by Chinachem Group and is named after the late chairman of the group, Nina Kung. Nina Kung originally decided to build a 520-meter-tall skyscraper, which would become the world’s tallest building, but was asked to modify the height due to flight path issues. In the end, it was designed into two high-rise buildings, a 319-meter-tall main tower and a lower 164-meter-tall tower.

The lower floors of the building are shopping mall and offices, while the middle and upper floors are the Rosewood Hong Kong Hotel and Rosewood Residences. It is reported that the Rosewood Hotel has a suite on the 57th floor with a price starting from HK$500,000 per night, making it the most expensive hotel suite in Hong Kong.

Cheung Kong Center was designed by famous architect César Pelli in joint with Leo A. Daly. It has a square and simple appearance, cladded mainly with glass, showing a modern and stable temperament.

The Cullinan is named after the Cullinan diamond discovered in 1905, the largest gem-quality diamond rough ever discovered. Although the building has only 68 floors, many floor numbers are skipped, and the highest floor is the 93rd floor.

Sorrento 1 is located in West Kowloon and is the first building of the second phase of Union Square’s luxury residential project “Sorrento”. Sorrento is located on the north side of Union Square and consists of five residential towers completed in 2003. The five towers all adopt the same design but with different heights. Sorrento 1 is the tallest tower and the shortest is Sorrento 6. Sorrento 1 is 256 meters tall and has 75 floors. It is the second tallest residential building in Hong Kong and was the tallest building in Kowloon before the completion of the International Commerce Center in 2010.

Highcliff is a luxury apartment building located on the southern slope of Happy Valley, Hong Kong Island. The 75-storey building was built in 2003 and has been the tallest all-residential building on Hong Kong Island since its completion. Highcliff has a slender appearance, with a width-to-height ratio of 1:20, making it one of the thinnest buildings in the world. In order to cope with typhoons that hit Hong Kong in late summer, passive wind dampers were installed on the top of the building, making it the world’s first residential building with a damping system. Highcliff is similar in appearance to the nearby tower “Summit”, both have a slender appearance. The two buildings are informally called “chopsticks” by locals.

There are only two residences on each floor of Highcliff, and each residence has an area of more than 3,600 square feet (about 400 square meters). Only 30 of these residences have been sold publicly, and the remaining 80 are always rented and not sold. The owner of the two top-floor residences is Xu Jinheng, the son of Xu Shixun, chairman of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the developer of the building. The residences on other floors are also favored by wealthy businessmen and celebrities. Singers Jacky Cheung, Eason Chan, and actress Brigitte Lin have all rented in Highcliff.

16. The Harborside

The Harborside is 255 meters tall and looks like a huge single building from a distance. But in fact, it consists of three towers of the same height, connected at the bottom, middle and top, forming 6 holes in the building wall. These holes are designed according to Feng Shui and are called Dragon Gates. It is said that they allow dragons to fly from the mountains of Kowloon into Victoria Harbor every day. In addition, due to the huge surface area of the building, these gaps between the towers help to relieve the pressure caused by wind.

17. Manulife Plaza

After Manulife moved out of the building in 2010, the building changed its Chinese name to Lee Garden One, while the English name is not changed.
The building is 240 meters high, but the top contains a spire of about 30 meters, and the roof height is only 211 meters. The base is a shopping mall with many brand-name stores and restaurants.

It was the tallest building in Kowloon before the completion of Sorrento 1 in 2003. The Harborfront Landmark consists of three towers of different heights, all of which are tightly close to each other, and all offer views of Victoria Harbor. Tower 1 faces Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island in the southwest, and the Towers 2 and 3 face Lei Yue Mun in the southeast, with a view of the sea in the distance. The project provides a total of 324 residential units, all of which are large-scale luxury homes. Each floor of each building has only two residential units, similar to Highcliff. The top two floors of Tower 1 are duplex sky villas that occupy the entire floors.
